THE FOUNDER'S STORY
Around May 2025, I already had a name for an idea I loved and never let go of: ICYA – I Create Your Alternative. A bag with interchangeable parts. It never took off.
Then I turned 50. For my birthday, I gave myself a one-week solo trip to Thailand – the first real pause I'd allowed myself in years of graveyard shifts and forward motion.
I walked into a Louis Vuitton store. All I had with me was an eco-bag that didn't belong with what I was wearing. I had a scarf. And I thought: what if I could turn this into a bag?
This question didn't leave me. I researched, experimented, shared the idea, listened, tested and tested again. The Founding Knot Circle became part of that journey. What started as ICYA became ANUDA – the Filipino idea of tying and knotting, the simplest gesture that lets one piece become many things.
At 50, I wasn't starting over. I was starting again, with everything I'd learned.

Why ANUDA?
ANUDA comes from anudar – Spanish for “to tie, to knot.” It’s the one motion behind every ANUDA piece: nothing is seen into a single shape, everything is tied, folded, or knotted into being. In Filipino slang, “anuda” is also a casual pronunciation of “another” – a nod to the fact that one piece never has to be just one thing. Two roots, one word, endless ways to wear it.
